1. Does your Hospital have Outpatient & Inpatient services

Yes. Mallya Hospital is having Outpatient Consultation facility in the Specialties and Super specialties from 8.00am to 8.00pm on all working days. With regard to the Inpatient services with bed strength of 219, admissions are made for all the specialties.

 

 2. What are the various categories of rooms available in your Hospital?

We have the following room categories.

Deluxe Suite:
Individual rooms which are spacious and Luxurious have been specially designed to meet the varying needs of today’s family & social needs. Visitor’s lounge gives more privacy and less crowding in the patient’s room. Availability of attendant beds and cozy sofa’s make the hospital stay memorable.

Deluxe:
Individual rooms where the patient’s comfort meets the luxury is what one comes to feel at the very first sight. Facility for attendant’s stay and adequate space for visitors to move around is admirable.

Private Room:

When the focus is on privacy coupled with economy, Private rooms come handy. All comforts for a smooth stay along with an attendant is available in private rooms/

Semi Private Room:

These are twin sharing rooms. Separate rooms are allotted for males and females. Screen partitions maintain individual privacy. Attendants can also stay with the patient.

General ward/Economy ward:

Separate wards are available for both males and females. Individual screen partitions ensure privacy. No attenders are allowed to stay along with the patient in these ward categories.

3. Can I get food from outside for the patient or the attender?

Diet is provided to the patient as per the doctor’s advice; hence food from home or outside is not permitted in the hospital.  Attendants may use the COFFEE SHOP in the basement. 

 

4. Do you serve Vegetarian and Nonvegetarian diet?

Only vegetarian food shall be served at the bedside and in the coffee shop. Hence not only the patient’s but the attenders using the coffee shop facility shall only be served vegetarian food.

 

5. What is the procedure for Outpatient Consultation?

You may first finalize on the Consultant in the particular specialty to be met by you. Then, you may call up on the 080 22277979 Extn: 1525 or 1526 between 8.00am and 8.00pm for appointments. Depending upon the availability of slots for the Consultant and the day you have chosen, your appointment shall be confirmed.

 

6. What is the procedure, if I am visiting your Hospital for the first time as a patient?

You will have to fill in the Initial Patient Record (IPR) towards obtaining the Hospital Number in case they are coming for the first time. The prescribed registration fees shall be paid at the Registration counter towards registration.  The Registration counter staff shall record the details provided in the IPR and a Hospital Number is provided which is unique to you. On registration, you shall receive an Identity Card, which shall contain the Hospital Number, Patient Name, Age, Sex and the Date of Registration.

 

7. What is the procedure, if I have to get admitted in your Hospital?

Admission shall be done based on the Admit Instruction Slip issued by the Casualty Medical Officer or the Consultant of Mallya Hospital to the respective ward of your choice or as decided by the Doctors in case of critical care.

In case you are visiting this Hospital for the first time, then you will have to register as mentioned in the serial number 6 of above. But if you have already been registered, you may kindly produce your Hospital ID card for verification of the Hospital number. In case you do not have the Hospital ID card, then you may intimate your full name as registered with the Hospital for retrieving your Hospital number. Once your Hospital number is available, you shall be escorted by the Admission counter staff to the allotted bed.

8. Do you use Credit/Debit cards? Is so do you collect service charges?

We do accept all major Credit cards and Debit cards and no service charges are levied.

 

9. I have a Medical Insurance card. Can I get Cashless hospitalization?

We have tied-up with 13 major Insurance companies and Third Party Administrators (TPAs). Cashless facility is extended for all planned admissions wherein the Pre-authorization approval is received.

10. I am working with a corporate firm and I have been instructed by my company that your Hospital is empanelled to treat the employees and dependants. Could I know what the procedure for admission is?

Admission shall be done on credit basis to the eligible room category subject to the production of Referral letter, duly signed by the authorized signatory of your company. The Admission Counter shall check whether the referral letter is in line with the MoU of your firm and accord Admission.

 

11. Is your Hospital empanelled for treating beneficiaries of various government schemes? If so, please let me know the details for admission?

Mallya Hospital is empanelled for inpatient treatment of ECHS, ABY, Yeshasvini and Suvarna Arogya Chaitanya Scheme beneficiaries.
The details for admission are as follows:

A. Ex-service Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS)

Admissions shall be done on credit basis, based of the Referral letter issued by the ECHS Polyclinic. The Admission Counter prior to the Admission shall check following points in the referral letter.

On satisfying the above, admission shall be done as per eligibility.

B. Arogya Bhagya Yojane (ABY)

Admission shall be done on credit basis, based on Authorization & Declaration form (A&D) issued by the Unit Head of the beneficiary. The Admission Counter prior to the Admission shall check following points in the A&D Form.

On satisfying the above, admission shall be done as per eligibility.

C. Yeshasvini

All admissions for hospitalization / surgical procedures will be made only after the receipt of Pre-Authorization approval from the concerned TPA. Pre-Authorizations form for Yeshasvini beneficiaries shall be issued from Admission Counter to the patients requiring admissions. The treating Doctor shall fill up the same and Insurance Cell at the Reception will forward for the approval by the TPA. Admission shall be done on receipt of the approval from TPA.

 D. Suvarna Arogya Chaitanya Scheme

All admissions for hospitalization / surgical procedures will be made only after the receipt of Pre-Authorization approval from the concerned TPA. Pre-Authorizations form for Suvarna Arogya Chaitanya Scheme beneficiaries shall be issued from Admission Counter to the patients requiring admissions. The treating Doctor shall fill up the same and Insurance Cell at the Reception will forward for the approval by the TPA. Admission shall be done on receipt of the approval from TPA.

 

12. I have Medical Insurance card. Do you extend cashless facility for Day care procedures?

Like any other Admissions, prior approval from the concerned Insurance Company or TPA is required. For some Day care procedures, Insurance Company or TPA does give approval though the admission is for less than 24 hours. Hence, it is not possible to generalize the cases. Therefore the discretion of the individual company approving cashless facility is adhered to.

 

13.  Can we purchase Medicines for Inpatient treatment from outside?

We have a 24x7 Pharmacy at the basement of the Hospital and we cater to all Medicinal needs of the patient during the stay in the Hospital. Hence, you need not personally procure any Medicines for inpatient treatment.

 

14. Do you have Ambulance services?

Yes, we do have 24x7 Ambulance services. For details, please contact Reception or Emergency Room.

 

15. Do we have to bring clothes/linen for the patient and attendants?

Hospital provides patient gowns and Linen for all inpatients. For the attendants of patients in Semi-Private, Private, and Deluxe rooms a set of linen is provided for a nominal fee.  Please contact Housekeeping Department for this service.  Do not bring linen from outside.

 

16. What should I do once the Consultant has informed me that I shall be discharged?

Your attending Nurse will be sending discharge intimation to the Billing Section and it would normally take at least an hour to secure clearance from all the departments such as Pharmacy, Housekeeping, Telephones, Food Services and Operation Theatre.  The billing assistant will inform you when the bill is ready. 
If you are not covered under Medical Insurance, the bill may be settled by Cash / DD or Credit Card.  (VISA, MASTER CARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DINERS CLUB). CHEQUES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. You may pay the bills at the Billing counter and obtain receipt for the payments made.
If you are covered under Medical Insurance, and if the bill amount is more than the initial approved amount, your final bill will be send for processing to the concerned Insurance company/TPA. This may take four to six hours. On receiving the approval, you shall be intimated by the Billing staff who inturn will guide you further.
Before departure, the ward sister will hand over the prescription and explain you about the treatment to be continued at home
